More than half a dozen drivers were left to walk after their vehicles were seized by Warwickshire traffic officers. One of them was a green Suzuki. It was stopped by members of Warwickshire Police’s Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) on Siskin Drive. The team found that the driver did not hold a full UK driving licence so the vehicle was seized and the driver was reported to court. The team also stopped a Mazda near to the Leopard Pub in Bishops Tatchbrook after they clocked it being driven at around 30mph in a 50mph zone. They seized the Mazda and the driver was reported to court. A Silver Toyota Yaris was stopped on the M6 northbound, and the team discovered that the driver did not hold a full UK driving licence. Over in Rugby , a grey Ford Fiesta was stopped on Hillmorton Road and checks revealed the driver had no insurance, tax or MOT. The vehicle seized and driver will now face court for the offences. OPU officers also stopped a Peugeot 3008 on London Road, just off Toll bar island. They found that the car was insured and registered to a female, with a male driving. Checks revealed the male was a disqualified driver and was not insured to drive the vehicle, vehicle seized and driver reported for the offences. On Stratford Road in Warwick , the team seized a silver Corsa. It came after the. car left the petrol station with no lights on, pulled up and waited for the police car to pass before setting off again. After stopping the car, the driver admitted to holding no licence, having no insurance or MOT on the car. The car was also declared off road. The officers also stopped a white van in Nuneaton and checks revealed that the insurance policy was fraudulent, with the policy to Inverness, but the vehicle registered kept and used in Birmingham. The car also had an expired MOT. It was taken off the road and the driver was reported to court.
