Coventry City parade will be live-streamed at promotion party event

Festival-goers headed to War Memorial Park on Monday who are worried about missing out on the Coventry City parade will be able to watch it on a live stream instead. A number of people have questioned the timing of the two events as entrance to War Memorial Park is only allowed before 3pm. But as the parade buses aren’t due to leave Coventry Building Society Arena until 1pm, with the parade finishing at Hearsall Common just after 3pm it means fans won’t be able to do both. It will offer a ‘unique, player’s eye view’ of the journey through the city. The stream will only be available at the park. After the parade the players will be on stage at War Memorial Park, where they will lift the Sky Bet Championship trophy and celebrate with fans. On stage throughout the day will also be live music, including sets by Tom Grennan and The Enemy. Anyone who does want to attend both the parade and the event at War Memorial Park is encouraged to attend an earlier section of the parade route before making their way to the park. Queues are expected and there will be bag checks in place, so people are urged to arrive as early as possible so they don’t miss the players’ arrival. Tickets for the War Memorial Park event are now sold out, it’s been confirmed this afternoon . Around 50,000 people are expected to turn out for the celebrations. CoventryLive will be covering the parade and the event in full. Check out our website for the latest on the day, plus see Tuesday’s paper for a picture supplement.
