It started as a modest fundraiser which organiser Grace Healey hoped would raise about £2000 with around 10 people taking part.
But last weekend an incredible 120 women stepped out to raise funds for two good causes – and donations have topped £18,000.
The women walked 12 miles from Meriden to Coventry, finishing at Christ the King in Coundon.
The walk was in honour of Grace’s sister Anne-Marie.
Writing on the Justgiving page Grace said: “On 11th June, my best friend in the whole world Annie, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“Over the last six months, I have watched in awe of her strength and courage. Annie is the most kind-hearted person and best sister I could wish for. We are so incredibly grateful for the overwhelming love and support shown to our family during this time.
“This journey has shown me just how strong and kind the women (and men) in our lives truly are — especially our incredible Mum, in-laws, Aunties, friends and cousins. With this in mind I have made it my mission in 2026 to give something back by raising money for Breast Cancer Research. Not only to raise awareness, but to celebrate the incredibly brave and strong people who are fighting this every single day.”
The funds will be split between Breast Cancer Now and Check Your Ducks (Arden Angels), a local charity that raises funds to support cancer care in the community at UHCW in Coventry and Rugby St Cross Hospital.
Grace added: “These hospitals have played such an important role in Anne-Marie’s journey, as they have for so many men and women facing cancer. We are endlessly grateful for the compassion, dedication, and kindness shown by the incredible staff who care for patients every single day.”
She now hopes to raise £20,000. Donations can be made on the Justgiving page here.
