Meet the brilliant Nuneaton schoolboy, 8, who inspired his whole class to help others

A brilliant Nuneaton schoolboy inspired his whole class to help others.

Finn Allison and his classmates at Weddington Primary School took part in a challenge to support families with disabled children.

The eight-year-old wanted to help other disabled children in the same situation as him, so encouraged his Year 3 school friends to take part in a 19-minute walk on the school playing fields.

It was for charity Contact’s Dino Day Challenge, which was a perfect fit for dinosaur-loving Finn.

His mum, Amie Alison, said: “I showed him a few amazing charities that support disabled children, and he chose Contact and their Dino Day Challenge, because he likes green and dinosaurs.

“What started as Finn’s idea quickly became something much bigger. He wanted all of his school friends to join in, and his school embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.”

The eight-year encouraged his Year 3 school friends to take part in a 19-minute walk on the school playing fields.

Each child wore green and carried dinosaurs and they raised more than £700 – way above the initial target.

“Seeing everyone come together to support such an important cause was incredibly moving, and we couldn’t be prouder of Finn and every single child who took part,” his mum said.

“A huge thank you to the staff, children, parents, family and friends who supported the challenge and donated so generously. Your kindness and encouragement have made a real difference.”

Bisma Mohamed, Fiinn’s teacher, said: “As his teachers, we have watched Finn put his heart into this fundraiser from the very beginning. He has spoken so passionately about taking part in the Dino Day Challenge and wanting to raise money for Contact because he knows how important your work is.

“Seeing him achieve his goal has been an extremely special moment for all of us.”
