Nuneaton Carnival 2026 route change plea as organisers request support

Published on

Nuneaton Carnival has announced modifications to the parade route for this year’s celebrations.

Last year marked the first occasion when the yearly gathering concluded in the town centre instead of the customary location near Gala Fields off Avenue Road.

This arrangement will persist for this year’s gathering, scheduled for Sunday, August 16, though the parade route will undergo minor alterations.

Committee members attributed the adjustment to construction work taking place throughout the town.

The committee outlined the route as follows: beginning in Dunns Close as usual, proceeding along the standard path to Saint Nicholas church, then bearing left past Sainsbury’s across Coton and Queens Road toward the Dandelion Fountain, turning right toward the Hilton hotel, then left down Abbey Street and left onto Harefield Road where it will conclude.

The route modification comes as final arrangements for the major event are being completed.

As was the case previously, the parade will conclude in the town centre, which will also house the market stalls and amusement rides.

This decision followed the successful transition away from the traditional Gala Fields location last year.

Appeal to residents

With concluding arrangements progressing, the organising committee has made an urgent request for assistance with the parade.

They require four 18-tonne lorries, curtain-sided trailers, or flatbed vehicles for participants in the procession, which carries the theme of ‘Films’.

Individuals able to provide vehicles or wishing to volunteer on the day should contact the committee via enquiries@nuneatoncommunitycarnival.com or access the Nuneaton Carnival Facebook page.

The parade will depart from Dunns Close at 12.30pm on Sunday, August 16.
