A nursery setting that has served as a close-knit community hub for families across Nuneaton for two decades is marking a significant milestone.
Little Glendalers Pre School is commemorating 20 years of operation from its location within the grounds of Glendale Infants School.
During the past two decades, the facility has guided approximately 1,000 children through their initial steps into formal education, a accomplishment that proprietor Emma Ball considers particularly meaningful.
She initially joined what was known as Glendale Nursery in a managerial capacity.
She explained that she took over administration of the preschool from a previous owner who ultimately withdrew from purchasing the business, prompting her and her husband to acquire it instead.
She noted that she had only achieved her qualification six months prior, making it a considerable gamble that ultimately proved successful.
A special teddy bear’s picnic was organised at the Nuneaton nursery to mark the ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating achieved the previous year
Under her stewardship, the establishment has cultivated an environment that has not only received consecutive ‘outstanding’ assessments from Ofsted but has also welcomed multiple generations of families seeking early years care for their offspring.
She observed that the first grandchild of one of the very first children to attend has now been enrolled at the setting.
She emphasised that the setting prides itself on maintaining a familial atmosphere, and the fact that families return with their children and now their grandchildren speaks volumes about the quality of provision.
Little Glendalers has evolved over time, including the introduction of an outdoor forest school programme that the young charges thoroughly enjoy.
She noted that the children are particularly fond of this feature, and the setting is fortunate to be able to utilise it throughout the year regardless of conditions.
When asked about her greatest source of pride having steered the nursery for two decades, she highlighted the recurring families who choose the setting, describing it as fundamentally a family enterprise.
She pointed out that her mother continues to volunteer her assistance every Monday while her sister serves as deputy manager, and the broader team demonstrates genuine dedication to the children.
She expressed pride in the positive impact the setting achieves for children in the local community, highlighting the individual attention provided and the developmental progress observed in the children, which she described as remarkable.
She also noted the satisfaction derived from supporting children with additional requirements and witnessing the gains they make.
Observing former charges flourish as they progress through their schooling also brings her considerable joy.
She remarked that witnessing children develop and knowing the setting has contributed to their growth is deeply rewarding.
She stated that the team feels tremendous pride in what has been accomplished across the past 20 years.
She emphasised that none of this would have materialised without the exceptional staff, the delightful children, and the families who have placed their confidence in the setting year after year, expressing gratitude to all who have accompanied them on this journey.
As the nursery marks this notable milestone, enquiries are being welcomed for new children, with vacancies on offer for the upcoming autumn term.
