Met Office on when ‘much-needed’ rain will fall in Coventry

Published on

The Met Office has forecast ‘much-needed’ rain is on the horizon for Coventry.

After temperatures topped 30C yesterday, Wednesday, July 29, a shift in the weather is coming.

Rain is forecast on Monday, August 3, according to the latest local forecast for our area.

For the weekend, the weather is set to be dry with ‘some warm spells of sunshine’.

But, it added: “A chance of some much needed rain developing across the region on Monday.”

It came after our region was one of seven across England to be officially declared in a drought.

The West Midlands is experiencing what is known as flash drought which happens quickly and is caused by a combination of very low rainfall and higher temperatures.

The Environment Agency said rivers were running low, farmers were having to harvest crops early, and the wildfire risk was increasing.
