Speed limit on key Nuneaton route cut to 30mph during construction works

Published on

A temporary speed reduction will be introduced along a primary road in Nuneaton while construction takes place.

The measure will affect a section of Griff Way, according to a temporary traffic order.

The lowered speed limit will be in operation from Wednesday, August 5 until Thursday, August 7.

The order specifies that a 30mph speed restriction will be imposed on Griff Way, Nuneaton from the roundabout at its junction with College Street to a point 520metres south.

It states this is necessary for the protection of all road users and workers carrying out hydrant installation.

Additional schemes scheduled in the latest traffic directive include:

Humphrey Davy Road in Bedworth will face closure from its junction with Jeffry Close for one day on August 3 to facilitate road improvements.

Wiclif Way in Nuneaton will be inaccessible to vehicles from Pennine Way to St Pauls Primary School, shut between 8am and 5pm from August 17 to August 20 for surface resurfacing. The diversion route will be Wiclif Way, Ansley Road, Church Road, Wiclif Way and vice versa. Access to and from Wenlock Way during the works will be via Mendip Drive, Pennine Way or Kingswood Road.

Astley Lane in Bedworth is scheduled for closure on August 21 to replace a pole. The diversion will follow Astley Lane, Windmill Lane, Howe Green Lane, Breach Oak Lane, Smorrall Lane and vice versa.
