When to expect 30C heat in Coventry today

Published on

Coventry and Warwickshire are bracing for sweltering conditions today, with the mercury climbing to 30 degrees during the afternoon. After a cool start to the morning, temperatures are climbing steadily throughout the day.

The forecast offers some relief ahead, as conditions are expected to become cooler for the remainder of the week, accompanied by increased cloud cover, though the region should remain largely dry.

Tuesday will bring highs of 27 degrees, dropping to 20 degrees by Thursday and settling at a comfortable 22 degrees across the weekend.

Today presents a stark contrast. Skies will remain largely clear this morning with abundant sunshine, while additional cloud will develop during the afternoon. Temperatures in Coventry are anticipated to peak at 30 degrees around 2pm.

The heat will persist until approximately 6pm, with temperatures still reaching 21 degrees at 11pm this evening. There is a minimal possibility of rainfall today, particularly during the evening hours, though any precipitation is expected to be minimal.

Ultraviolet levels and pollen concentrations will both remain elevated throughout the day.

According to the Met Office forecast for the West Midlands region, the new week will begin with dry conditions as cloud patches disperse during the morning hours, allowing extensive sunshine to emerge. However, afternoon hours may see increased cloud cover potentially producing some locally heavy downpours. It will feel muggy with temperatures reaching a maximum of 32 degrees.

The evening will bring largely overcast conditions with occasional showers developing, though these are expected to diminish overnight as some clear intervals appear. Minimum temperatures will drop to 16 degrees.
