Excitement is mounting with just days to go until ‘the biggest party Coventry has ever seen’. Off the back of Coventry City FC’s stunning return to the Premiership, a parade is planned for the coming bank holiday Monday followed by an event at War Memorial Park headlined by the likes of Tom Grennan and The Enemy.
CoventryLive went to War Memorial Park to take a peek at the preparations – and we were not disappointed.
Pictures show the beginnings of rides and stalls – along with some sweet blue ribbons tied to a bench.
Party fever is growing in Coventry with as many as 50,000 people expected to take part.
If you’re heading along it’s worth knowing that entrance to the festival in War Memorial Park is only allowed before 3pm. No one will be allowed after that time.
With the parade buses leaving Coventry Building Society Arena at 1pm, this makes a tight turnaround for fans wanting to see both.
Coventry City FC has addressed these concerns and said fans who are going to both are encouraged to attend the earlier parts of the parade route.
A huge amount of preparation has been underway this week ahead of the events. The parade route has been confirmed while festival goers have been warned about banned items.
And police have also issued a statement promising high-visibility patrols.
