Frank Lampard Chelsea return expectation as Coventry City exit fears addressed

Published on

Frank Lampard will “stay loyal” to Coventry City , believes Martin Keown. Lampard’s future has been thrust into the spotlight because of his stellar success with the Sky Blues, leading them to promotion to the Premier League and the Championship title in his first full season in charge at the CBS Arena. His stock is on the rise and he also only has one year left on his current deal with Coventry . Lampard was linked with Bournemouth before they appointed Marco Rose and he has also been touted for the Chelsea job in the wake of Liam Rosenior being sacked. FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK! I think he’ll stay loyal. “This has been his project. Obviously Mark Robins did an amazing job there, foundations were in place.” Coventry have been planning for their return to the Premier League and Keown believes Lampard will have to be shrewd in the summer transfer window as he tries to strengthen his squad for a crack at the top flight. “You’ve got to look at the players and think, okay, how much has got Premier League experience? Not too much,” he added. “Where they’ve not had the parachute payments, they’ve got a big hole to fill, but he’s going to have to be imaginative with his signings, with his acquisitions, with the loanees.” Every day, the CoventryLive football desk strive to deliver all manner of news, features and transfer-related stories as a part of our overall package of Coventry City content.
