One resident needed treatment for burn injuries following a major blaze in Coventry.

Emergency services from across the area responded to calls about the incident at Feilding Close in the Walsgrave district on the afternoon of 6 July.

The fire, which authorities have confirmed was unintentional, began in a rear garden before extending to adjacent dwellings.

A representative for West Midlands Fire Service explained that the incident involved multiple terraced properties. The flames originated in the garden area of one home before moving to neighbouring residences. Throughout the course of the afternoon, 28 firefighters equipped with breathing masks worked to bring the flames under control, operating from multiple angles around the affected buildings.

Regarding casualties, the representative noted that a single individual was examined by ambulance personnel for superficial burns and treated at the location. No additional injuries were reported. Crews would continue their presence at the site while checking for remaining hot spots. The fire has been classified as accidental in nature.

Contact has been made with West Midlands Ambulance Service, which responded to the emergency. West Midlands Police confirmed that officers were present solely to manage traffic flow in the area.
