Coventry food truck ordered to improve after one-star hygiene rating

Published on

A food trailer operating in Coventry has been awarded a one-star hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency following an inspection that uncovered multiple significant problems. BoB Bites of Bliss Limited, located on Stoney Stanton Road, was visited by inspectors on March 10. The examination revealed serious concerns regarding food safety management at the establishment. Investigators determined that existing systems for guaranteeing the safety of food served to customers were insufficient. Additionally, personnel were found to possess limited knowledge of food safety protocols.

Management was directed to enhance food-handling procedures, specifically addressing cooking, reheating, cooling, and storage methods. Sanitary conditions also failed to meet required hygiene standards. Problems were likewise identified with certain facilities essential for maintaining proper hygiene. Inspectors expressed skepticism that food hygiene standards would be upheld consistently moving forward.

A Coventry City Council representative stated that all food-selling establishments in Coventry undergo inspections conducted by the council. Businesses receive risk assessments and corresponding scores under the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme. Based on the hygiene standards observed during the March 10 inspection, BoB Bites of Bliss Limited was assigned a hygiene rating of 1, indicating that substantial improvements were required. The council has maintained engagement with the business to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, implementation of necessary improvements, and the establishment’s safe operation.

While businesses can make enhancements following an inspection, these do not automatically modify the hygiene rating. BoB Bites of Bliss Limited retains the option to request a re-rating. Should the business not pursue re-rating, the score will be evaluated and refreshed during the subsequent scheduled inspection.
