The “most important thing” for Coventry City this summer is keeping hold of Frank Lampard. Lampard has led the Sky Blues back to the Premier League in his first full season in charge at the CBS Arena. Coventry also look set to return to the top flight as champions of the Championship. Lampard’s stock as a manager is back on the rise after previously being sacked by Chelsea and Everton and he has been linked with a string of jobs, the latest being Bournemouth. BBC EFL pundit Sam Parkin believes Coventry owner Doug King will have to fend off interest in Lampard this summer. “The biggest thing will be Frank Lampard still being there and I think the way Doug King has spoken about him, I think there will be interest in him,” he said. “He’s such a determined individual when he was a player and now as a manager, because he’s had a couple of knocks along the way, so I think there will be interest in him. “The most important thing is that he’s there next season, and his staff that he brought with him. It was a bit of a gamble for him and Coventry, but it’s paid off massively.” Every day, the CoventryLive football desk strive to deliver all manner of news, features and transfer-related stories as a part of our overall package of Coventry City content.
