Coventry City finally secured promotion back to the Premier League after a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers – and Coventry Live attended a local venue to soak it all up.

For a week the whole city has been suspended state of celebration, just waiting for the moment we could mathematically enjoy going up. This video captures the moment the final whistle blew during the Sky Blues’ match with Blackburn Rovers.

Thanks to our position in the Championship, the Sky Blue faithful were in fine voice from the off at the Empire.

After coming close so promotion in recent years, the whole city can finally celebrate now Frank Lampard and his men have got the job done.

With a huge mix of ages, the venue rocked from before the first whistle to well after the final one – a DJ keeping people bouncing before and after the game.

Coventry City are back in the Premier League

Finally when the promotion was secured thanks to a Bobby Thomas equaliser, the place exploded. Coventry City are one again in the top flight.
