With just one point needed to secure Coventry’s promotion back to the Premier League the city is in a suspended state of excitement. We all know it is happening, so much so even the built in pessimism of every Sky Blues supporter has been overcome, it’s just a case of when.

With the side set to travel to Blackburn for an 8pm kick off, the city is preparing to watch the boys in Sky Blue get the job done against relegation-threatened Rovers. Just a point is needed to tip us over the edge.

While some fans are already on the way, others plan to watch at home. Meanwhile, the city’s pubs and clubs are looking resplendent decked out in Sky Blue bunting and flags.

After coming close to promotion in recent years, the whole city is set to burst with celebration now that the Sky Blues are finally back in the top flight for the first time in 25 years, having achieved it with Frank Lampard at the helm.
