Nuneaton road closures announced for new four-arm junction work

Published on

Major alterations to the highway system in the centre of Nuneaton are set to commence shortly. Following a series of postponements, the highly anticipated transformation of the existing three-arm Wheat Street and Vicarage Street junction into a four-arm configuration is merely days from commencing. The scheme will necessitate several road closures. The single-direction traffic arrangement along Justice Walk through to Bond Gate in Nuneaton will be halted on a temporary basis. This arrangement takes effect on May 19 and will continue until the 22nd.

The additional scheduled closures are as follows:

Vicarage Street will be shut to vehicles from May 7 through to May 11, during the hours of 8pm to 6am each night. The alternative route for drivers will be via Back Street, Newtown Road, Corporation Street, Jubilee Way, Burgage Walk, Coton Road, Vicarage Street and Church Street, with the same in reverse.

Wheat Street will be closed to traffic from May 5 through to January 8 the following year.
