A fresh community centre could be built on a large new housing development in Nuneaton after planning approval was given for the scheme off Golf Drive. Among the requirements set when permission was granted was the construction of a community facility. Detailed proposals for this building have now been filed with the Town Hall in a fresh planning submission. The documents contain visualisations depicting the planned appearance of the centre.

According to the design and access statement accompanying the application, the community hall serves as an essential component of the broader development. It states that the positioning and architecture will function as a community meeting point linking key vehicle and pedestrian pathways throughout the site. Situated centrally within the scheme, the hall serves as a gathering place along the primary thoroughfare running through the development.

The facility will feature a sizable assembly space, together with catering facilities, washrooms, a flexible-use room and administrative offices. Access on foot to the community centre will primarily be from the road bordering the north-western section of the grounds. The development will include 20 parking bays, incorporating two spaces reserved for blue badge holders, two spots equipped for electric vehicle charging and a shelter for bicycles.

The broader planning submission for the area also secured approval for a proposed medical centre. This would stand adjacent to the community building. Formal designs for this healthcare facility have yet to be released.

Altogether, the Taylor Wimpey project will deliver 621 residences and carries the name Bramcote Drive.
