Firefighters were called to the scene around 11.30am

Smoke was seen billowing after a major fire erupted in Coventry. It happened on Blackburn Road this morning.

Firefighters were called to Circom Limited at around 11.35am. Police were also sent to the scene and blocked off Blackburn Road near Stonebrook Way.

Crews found a large quantity of recycled material alight when they arrived. Four main jets were used to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage to the building.

Nobody is believed to have been injured. Residents were urged to close their doors and windows while the blaze was brought under control throughout the day (April 5).

Firefighters are continuing efforts to control a large blaze on Stonebrook Way that started this morning. It is not yet clear what sparked the blaze or what is involved.

Paramedics were seen on Stonebrook Way after a major fire erupted this morning (April 5).

It is not yet known whether anyone is injured.

Residents have been urged to avoid Stonebrook Way and Blackburn Road today (April 5).

Locals have also been advised to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: ‘Please avoid the area where possible.’

Crews from across Coventry have responded to the major fire on Stonebrook Way near Blackburn Road.

It was being brought under control around 12.40pm.

Firefighters were called to Stonebrook Way in Longford around 11am today (April 5).

Smoke was seen billowing near Circom Limited and Tom White Waste.
