Impatient drivers cause hazard by ‘driving over’ loved Coventry green space

Motorists are causing a hazard by ‘driving over’ a loved green space in Coventry.

Locals say that it is impacting their ability to make the most of the large green space in Jubilee Crescent.

They claim that, at night, motorists ‘drive over’ the green space as it has no form of defence around it.

It has led them to call on the city council to install planters around the area to help not only stop this but to make the area look better too.

They have launched a petition, which reads: “Jubilee Crescent benefits from a large open green space in the middle which residents have long wished would be added to in order to beautify the area and lift this important local shopping area.

“For many years they have requested planters as exist in other district and local centres.

“Because of it’s open nature, the green space is entirely accessible in the evenings for vehicles to cross which creates a hazard for those enjoying it.

“Strategically placing planters around the green area would provide a defence against this happening.”

The petition is currently live on the council’s website and can be found here

It runs until August 28.
