Cllr George Finch praised the late Reform UK leader whose death was announced on Friday

The leader of Warwickshire County Council and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has paid tribute to Ann Widdecombe who has died aged 78.
Cllr George Finch, 20, shared an image of himself with the former Conservative minister after news of her death was shared on Friday (10 July).
Ms Widdecombe spent years as a leading member of the Conservative Party spending 23 years as an MP and holding various ministerial roles.
In her later years, she left the Tory Party and joined the Brexit Party before becoming a member of Reform UK.
She was also known for her media work, being a regular face on TV – she had an infamous stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2010. Through the years she was a regular on shows such as Have I Got News For You and The Jeremy Vine Show.
Cllr Finch said: “Britain has lost a true political giant. For nearly four decades, Ann Widdecombe served our country with conviction and an unmistakable wit.
“She never bent with the wind and never feared speaking plainly and honestly. I’m proud to have known her. She will be greatly missed.”
