It faces competition from hundreds of other areas across the country
The special greetings from Nuneaton postcard entry was inspired by locals
Nuneaton’s bid to be crowned UK Town of Culture 2028 was inspired by its biggest and best asset – its people.
The town is in the running to be crowned the first ever UK Town of Culture after the government launched the inaugural competition earlier this year.
Entrants were asked to submit a postcard for their area and ‘The Greetings from Nuneaton ‘ entry contains images captured and made by residents.
Nuneaton BID, who championed the town’s submission into the competition, held a a community event held on June 13 where residents of all ages were asked to share stories, create artwork and celebrate everything they love about Nuneaton.
This was used to inspire the creation of the postcard.
“The postcard captures the energy, creativity and pride we saw throughout the day and reflects the voices of our community,” the BID said
“A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped shape this special piece of Nuneaton’s story. Together, we’ve shown what makes our town a truly inspiring place to live, work and visit.”
The postcard from Nuneaton can be found on an interactive online map, which features all of the entries from across the country.
