A new padel tennis court centre in Nuneaton wants to be able to sell alcohol. CoventryLive reported on the plans for the new facility- which would be based within the currently empty units 1-5 and 9-11 in Ballin Road. Now Core Padel Centre has applied to the licensing department at the Town Hall for a new premises licence. This would allow the supply of alcohol on the premises between 12noon and 10pm, Monday to Sunday. The venue is set to be open from 6am until midnight, Monday to Sunday. In the Ballin Road application it explained that bookings can be made online and there will be on-site parking. “However, walking and cycling options are readily promoted by the club which is why the location within the heart of the local resident population and close proximity to the district centre is paramount, as it promotes day and evening economic activity, social cohesion and secures physical and mental health benefits to all members of the local community,” the plan explained. Official planning permission has yet to be given for the Ballin Road site. Licensing officers are now also considering the new premises licence for the site.
