Time running out for Coventry to have say on adult social care future

Published on

Baroness Casey has been appointed by the Government to conduct a review of Adult Social Care.

The Casey Commission has initiated its Big Conversation on Adult Social Care, a nationwide engagement exercise seeking input on the future of care and support services.

The responses gathered will inform recommendations submitted to the Government and may shape the direction of Adult Social Care provision throughout the United Kingdom.

Participation from residents, organisations and professionals across the country is already underway, and a senior councillor is urging Coventry residents to contribute their perspectives.

Cllr Linda Bigham, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, stated that the Council witnesses directly the significant difference Adult Social Care makes to residents’ lives.

The councillor also noted the dedication demonstrated by residents regarding these services.

Cllr Bigham expressed a desire for broad participation in the consultation.

By contributing experiences, ideas and priorities from Coventry, residents could ensure their voices form part of the national discussion.

According to Cllr Bigham, participation involves completing a questionnaire which requires only a few minutes but could contribute to meaningful change in people’s lives.

The consultation concludes this month.
