Coventry’s tourism promotion has received a boost with the release of a new official guide designed to showcase the city to potential visitors.
The digital publication, created by Visit Coventry, spans 50 pages and carries the tagline ‘music and motor city’ on its opening section.
The document explores various aspects of the city including musical venues, sporting facilities, theatrical performances, art galleries, museums, cultural establishments, transportation networks and historical sites.
In addition to highlighting well-known attractions, the guide also reveals some of the lesser-known features that the city has to offer.
Further sections cover scheduled events, locally-owned enterprises, outdoor areas and the local dining and refreshment scene.
The material was developed in partnership with Piece of Cake Marketing and Jade Brand Agency.
It incorporates suggested schedules organized around particular themes, with the aim of making it straightforward for tourists to navigate Coventry and to promote additional day trips, brief getaways and domestic holidays.
The publication is intended to bolster the expansion of Coventry’s tourism sector by motivating visitors to extend their stays and discover a broader selection of sites and commercial operations throughout the area.
Councillor Lynnette Kelly, who serves as Cabinet Member for Jobs, Regeneration and Climate Change, commented that tourism serves a significant function in sustaining the broader regional economy.
She explained that the industry generates income for hotels, hospitality companies, retail outlets, visitor sites, cultural bodies and other local enterprises while simultaneously supporting jobs and establishing career paths throughout the sector.
She noted that the introduction arrives at a favourable juncture for Coventry, with the city already experiencing robust visitor numbers and substantial economic benefits from tourism.
The updated guide presents a further chance to build upon this progress, enhancing Coventry’s standing as an appealing destination and attracting additional visitors.
She added that residents would also find plenty of relevant content, serving as a reminder of the excellent assets available within their own city.
The electronic publication will be made available through accommodation providers, tourist destinations, transit centres, cultural institutions, conference facilities and various other points where visitors gather.
It will assist promotional activities targeting not only the surrounding region but also national and international audiences.
The guide establishes a centralized reference point, ensuring that tourists encounter a uniform impression of the city regardless of the platform or method through which they obtain information.
Paul McMahon, who holds the position of Managing Director at Destination Coventry, stated that individuals form the core of Coventry’s visitor economy.
He described those who begin their days by opening doors to welcome guests, sharing the city’s narratives, preserving its historic character, developing its cultural offerings and defining the city’s identity.
He noted that these individuals are joined by inhabitants who take pride in Coventry as their place of residence and by guests who arrive with curiosity and depart carrying their own personal experiences of the city.
He explained that this publication extends an invitation to partake in that experience, encompassing more than simply locations to see and activities to pursue but rather the stories conveyed, the individuals encountered, the moments generated and the feeling of connection that can transform a visit into something unforgettable.
He observed that Coventry has persisted, reinvented itself and maintained a forward-looking approach, with that resilience continuing to manifest in its tourism sector.
He expressed that every guest who selects Coventry joins in contributing to the city’s ongoing narrative and everyone who greets them assists in shaping what follows, which renders the city a distinctive location to explore and an equally distinctive location to reside in.
Visit Coventry operates as a component of Destination Coventry, which functions as the official Destination Management Organisation for the city.
