Rugby police appeal for help after paint thrown over homes and cars

Warwickshire police officers have made a public appeal for assistance after private properties were targeted in what officers believe may be connected incidents of criminal damage.

Investigations are underway in Rugby following two separate occurrences in which residential homes and motor vehicles were damaged by individuals who hurled paint.

The incidents are being treated as likely linked by the investigating team.

The most recent event took place during the middle of the week.

Vehicles in the area received spray-painted markings while residents reported finding correspondence pushed through their letterboxes referencing the vandalism.

The earlier incident occurred on Bath Street on 13 August and involved similar criminal damage to property.

Officers received reports that between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, multiple dwellings in the vicinity of Technology Drive had paint thrown at them.

Cars in the area sustained damage including spray-painted graffiti while some households discovered notes placed through their doors relating to the defacement.

Sergeant Ricky Franklin stated that the vandalism constituted unacceptable behaviour and that the damage inflicted would require considerable time and resources to remedy.

He confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing and that officers would be examining the full circumstances surrounding each case.

The police force has indicated that any individuals who may have observed the incidents or who possess footage from doorbell cameras, closed-circuit television systems, or vehicle dashcams should make contact.

Relevant information can be submitted through official online reporting channels.
