Police have released a man who was arrested on suspicion of attacking a woman in Coventry. Officers cordoned off Wigston Road in Walsgrave on Monday (March 30).
Medics were called to the scene at around 12.15pm, where they treated a woman for hand injuries. Cops arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and took him in for questioning.
He was released with no further action as enquiries remain ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact West Midlands Police.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said on Monday: “We have arrested a man after a woman was discovered with injuries on Wigston Road in Coventry at just after 12.15pm today (March 30).
“She sustained cuts to her hands, and the 48-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He is currently in custody for questioning.”
In an update shared this morning, they said: “A 48-year-old man has been released with no further action and we are continuing our enquiries. Anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 and quoting log 1841 of March 30.”
