Veteran funnyman Sir Lenny Henry will bring his first stand-up circuit in more than a decade to Coventry. The city’s Warwick Arts Centre serves as the second venue on his forthcoming Still at Large UK tour.
This represents the performer’s initial British comedy tour since his acclaimed Cradle to Rave show in 2010. The production launches at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on May 5, with the Coventry date set for the next day, May 6.
The Still at Large tour will make its way across Britain before wrapping up at Hackney Empire in the capital on November 3.
Henry said he was eager to take Still at Large to theatres nationwide. He noted it was wonderful to be touring again with a fresh production, adding that he had changed considerably over the years and was no longer the teenager he once was, describing the journey as passing through numerous transformations.
He explained he would perform and recount anecdotes, then invite audience members to pose questions. He encouraged people to attend, suggesting they might encounter something surprising.
