Police were called after a projectile was found in Warwickshire. It was discovered in Milverton, Leamington Spa.
Officers from Warwickshire Police were called to Milverton on Wednesday (April 1). Experts from British Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) were also drafted in and found an 18lb solid shot projectile.
It was safely removed from the scene for disposal, the Ministry of Defence said. No injuries were reported.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) said: “We can confirm that an Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended an area in Milverton on Wednesday, April 1, following a request from Warwickshire Police.
“We confirmed the item to be an 18lb solid shot projectile, which was safely removed from the scene for disposal.”
