Coventry City boss Frank Lampard has emerged as a potential candidate for a manager’s job in the Premier League. Lampard has helped guide the Sky Blues to the top of the Championship table, with the club one of the overwhelming favourites to secure automatic promotion to the top flight.
City have 85 points and a 12-point lead over the automatic promotion spots with just four games left to play this season.
Coventry also have a 10-point lead over second-placed Ipswich Town, who have played two games fewer than Lampard’s team.
As a result of Lampard’s impact at Coventry, the Sky Blues boss is being linked with a move to a Premier League club this summer.
It has been reported by the i Paper that Bournemouth have identified Lampard as a potential candidate to be the club’s new manager this summer.
The Cherries are set to look for a new boss after reports emerged on Tuesday claiming that current manager, Andoni Iraola, will leave the Vitality Stadium when his contract runs out at the end of the season.
The report claims that Lampard is one of three candidates who have been identified by Bournemouth as being under consideration to be appointed as their new boss this summer.
Lampard is alongside Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna and Rayo Vallecano boss Inigo Perez as potential options for the Cherries.
Bournemouth have been widely reported to have been keen to keep Iraola at the club beyond this summer, but the 43-year-old appears destined to leave the south coast, which has now led to speculation about Lampard’s future.
Lampard was named Coventry boss in November 2024 and steered the club away from relegation from the Championship to the play-offs in his first season.
This term, Lampard and Coventry have won 25 of their 42 Championship fixtures so far and are just one game away from being confirmed as the first club to secure promotion to the Premier League ahead of next season.
