A criminal organisation from Albania orchestrated a series of burglaries at high-end properties across the United Kingdom, leveraging property listings and search engines to identify their targets, before receiving custodial sentences. Law enforcement officials indicated that members of the network boasting about their criminal activities and circulated images of plundered items including wristwatches and expensive accessories.

Kristian Gropcaj, aged 30, George Pepa, aged 31, Krisjian Dedndreaj, aged 28, and Sidorjan Lleshi, aged 26, were handed cumulative jail terms surpassing 38 years during court appearances on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14. Jade Tubb, aged 33, originating from Coventry, received a suspended sentence.

Chester Crown Court heard that the conspirators targeted 44 dwellings over a ten-month period of prolific criminal activity. Detectives launched an extensive investigation in October 2024 after receiving multiple reports of thefts across Cheshire. Surveillance footage captured the offenders wheeling a safe over a garden boundary in one particular incident. Investigators noted that the culprits typically gained access to properties through upper-storey windows with the aid of ladders. Terrified inhabitants were sometimes at home as the intruders searched for timepieces, jewellery and designer luggage.

Officers linked the Cheshire offences to dozens of additional cases across Britain, encompassing locations such as Warwick and Stratford. Automatic number plate recognition technology was deployed to track motor vehicles associated with the entire spate of thefts. Examinations revealed that a Ford Focus insured under Gropcaj’s name attended numerous crime scenes, while a hired vehicle booked in Tubb’s name featured in several break-ins. Authorities established that Gropcaj maintained regular communication with Dedndreaj, Pepa and Endrit Nikolli, with the quartet arranging frequent meetings in the Jewellery Quarter. Officers carried out simultaneous searches across the Midlands region in July 2025, seizing hundreds of articles including timepieces and designer bags. Nevertheless, substantial portions of the looted goods had already been melted down or vended.

Sidorjan Lleshi, from Sheffield, was sentenced to ten years and nine months imprisonment, whilst Kristian Gropcaj, from Birmingham, received ten years. Krisjian Dedndreaj, from Walsall, and George Pepa, from Walsall, each received nine-year terms. Nikolli, from Walsall, is scheduled to receive his sentence on April 29. Tubb, residing on Sunnybank Avenue in Coventry, avoided immediate incarceration but was handed a twelve-month term suspended for two years and was directed by the presiding judge to feel deep shame.

Detective Sergeant Laura Fox commented that every operation was meticulously planned, with the gang conducting research into potential victims before carrying out their crimes, and even extending their criminal campaign across numerous police force boundaries in an attempt to avoid detection. Nikolli, Gropcaj, Dedndreaj, Pepa and Lleshi bore responsibility for executing the burglaries, whilst Tubb willingly spent the proceeds of their criminality. Throughout the investigation, it became evident that the group showed complete indifference to the distress their actions caused the victims. Instead, they frequently gloried in their criminal conduct and distributed images of their unlawfully obtained gains. Fortunately, thanks to the evidence compiled during the inquiry, all six accused individuals were left with no option but to admit guilt to the charges and are now confronting the repercussions of their behaviour.
