Coventry City at Blackburn: Live match coverage and team updates

Published on

Coventry City will be pushing for the single point required to officially secure promotion to the Premier League when they face Blackburn Rovers this evening. The club’s supporters are expected in large numbers, with approximately 7,000 fans making the journey to Ewood Park in hopes of witnessing a historic occasion in the club’s history. Lampard’s side will be aiming to secure all three points as they continue their pursuit of the Championship title, though a draw would be sufficient to guarantee automatic promotion by finishing in the top two positions. Rovers, nonetheless, will pose a significant challenge as they compete at the opposite end of the table, urgently needing points to avoid relegation to League One. Michael O’Neill had 13 players on his injury list ahead of tonight’s 8pm kick-off, while City have just one unavailable player, with Japanese winger Tatsuhiro Sakamoto missing due to a rib problem. Stay tuned for all team news, which will be published here at 6.45pm, while Sky Blues reporter Andy Turner will provide updates from 8pm onwards.
