Rail services travelling to and from Nuneaton railway station experienced disruption after concerns were raised about an individual on the railway lines. Routes originating from Trent Valley Station were affected during the early hours of the morning on April 17. Witnesses reported multiple police vehicles, including an incident response unit, gathered in Vernons Lane adjacent to the railway bridge. Officers from Warwickshire Police and British Transport Police both confirmed to this publication that they attended following emergency calls placed at approximately 5.30am.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police stated in communications that officers received notification at around 5.30am on April 17 regarding welfare concerns for a man on the tracks in Nuneaton. Emergency personnel attended the scene and located the individual in the Vernons Lane vicinity. The man was detained and subsequently escorted to his residence, where he was left under the supervision of a family member.

Railway services experienced delays throughout the morning before gradually restoring normal operations by the afternoon.
