The possibility of Frank Lampard changing Coventry City ’s style of football for the Premier League has been raised. Lampard has led the Sky Blues back to the top flight in his first full season in charge at the CBS Arena. Coventry also look set to return to the Premier League as champions of the Championship. They have swept to promotion with three matches to spare by playing an exciting brand of attacking football and scoring 85 goals. But they face a massive step up to the Premier League next season and BBC EFL pundit Sam Parkin has questioned whether their current style of football will be suited to it. “It’s difficult to predict how they will do,” he said. “They don’t have that kind of really robust style that maybe Luton came up with a couple of seasons ago and upset a few people. “They play good football, so they’ll probably be quite open. Whether Frank changes that to be a bit more defensively-minded and pragmatic next season, we’ll have to wait and see.” Every day, the CoventryLive football desk strive to deliver all manner of news, features and transfer-related stories as a part of our overall package of Coventry City content.
