Frank Lampard hits out at ‘unreal’ EFL snub and makes Coventry City prediction

Published on

Frank Lampard expressed his surprise that Ephron Mason-Clark did not make the Championship Team of the Season. The Coventry City boss was speaking after seeing his side demolish Wrexham 3-1 to further stamp their authority on a division they have won at a canter. The Sky Blues are now 12 points clear at the top of the Championship and could amass 95 points if they win at Watford on Saturday. Their latest victory came in their final home match of the season on Sunday as goals from Brandon Thomas-Asante and Victor Torp cancelled out an Ollie Rathbone equaliser. Then as the officials readied the trophy for the presentation, Mason-Clark produced a clinical injury time finish to bag his tenth of the season and add a bit of polish to the silverware. All of which led Lampard to laud his displays throughout a campaign that has seen the winger make 36 starts and lay on nine assists in 41 total appearances. FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK! He’s robust, takes hits, goes again, works on the training pitch and wants to do more on a training pitch. There are some players that are just special like that, and Ephron’s one of those. “I can’t speak highly enough of him and his levels are incredibly high. You talk about going to the Premier League now, this boy can play in the Premier League. He’s going to get the opportunity now because he’s fought for it for many years. So, brilliant.” Every day, the CoventryLive football desk strive to deliver all manner of news, features and transfer-related stories as a part of our overall package of Coventry City content.
