Frank Lampard’s Coventry City stance emerges as he shares true feelings with friend

Published on

Jody Morris insists Frank Lampard is ‘happy at Coventry’ after guiding the Sky Blues back to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years. Morris, who played with Lampard at Chelsea and coached with him at Derby County and Stamford Bridge, reckons the 47-year-old will one day manage again at Champions League level – but for now thinks his friend is loving life at the CBS Arena. The former Swindon boss, described as Lampard’s ‘pit bull’ by Curtis Davies who worked under the pair at Derby County, believes there will be rumours linking the manager with other clubs. But he says he sees no signs of him wanting to move on. “It’s phenomenal for Frank,” Morris told FindSisterSites. “It’s the nature of football that he’s going to be linked with all these Premier League jobs, and I think he’ll definitely be back in the Champions League one day. Whether it’s next season or not is another question. “I think Frank’s really happy at Coventry . Every time I’ve spoken to him, he loves it. He loves his group of players, and the fans have rightly taken to him massively. He has an outstanding relationship with the fans. “The difficulty then becomes whether Coventry can give Frank the tools and opportunity to try and stay up in the Premier League. But again, it’s one of those great problems you face when you manage to get promotion out of such a difficult league. “It’s amazing for Frank and his staff to have got them over the line. He’s rightly being linked with all these big jobs. “When you’ve been an unbelievable manager for 18 months in this country, whether it be in the Premier League, Championship, League One, or League Two, you’re going to get linked with jobs at clubs higher than your current employers. He’s rightly being linked, whether he goes anywhere is another question.” FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK!
