Man facing charges after Coventry assault leaves victim in life-threatening state

A 29-year-old man has appeared in court following a violent attack in Coventry. Kai Meek faced Coventry Magistrates’ Court on April 28 after police charged him with wounding. Officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the Holbrooks area during the early hours of April 27. Emergency services discovered a man with severe head injuries at the crossroads of Nunts Lane and Wheelwright Lane. A second man, aged between 40 and 49, was also taken into custody on Monday but has since been released without any charges being filed. Detectives continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone who witnessed the altercation or possesses relevant information has been asked to get in touch with West Midlands Police.
