A contest involving Reform, Labour and the Conservatives is set to determine the outcome of an upcoming Nuneaton by-election.

According to earlier reports from CoventryLive, Sharon Dhillon, who previously served as a Labour councillor, chose to resign from her role representing Camp Hill due to health concerns.

This resignation prompted a by-election, with Camp Hill residents scheduled to cast their votes on June 25, Thursday, to select one of their two local representatives.

The official list of candidates alongside their agents has now been released, confirming a three-way contest between Reform, Labour and the Conservatives.

Harinder Khela (Conservative), Eric Amaechi (Labour) and Peter Gilbert (Reform UK) will all be standing in the Camp Hill by-election later this month.

Labour are striving to retain the seat after suffering defeats during the local elections, which resulted in Reform UK emerging as the largest group at the Town Hall after securing 15 seats.

At present, Labour holds 11 seats, the Conservative Party occupies nine seats and the Green Party maintains three seats.

Conservative candidate Harinder Khela would become a first-time councillor should he be elected to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

Eric Amaechi represents Labour and previously served as a Labour councillor for the area before losing his seat during the May local elections.

Peter Gilbert is standing for Reform UK. He previously led the borough council as Conservative leader and also served as a Warwickshire County councillor and former Shire Hall chairman.
