A Coventry woman has been evicted from her home after years of issues involving suspected drug activity and disputes with neighbours. Complaints surrounding the Torrington Avenue property began in 2023.
Neighbours initially reported dog fouling in a communal garden and concerns over the level of supervision provided. Other issues included excessive noise, suspected drug activity and disruption that caused distress to nearby residents.
Citizen, which managed the property on Torrington Avenue, worked with Coventry City Council and West Midlands Police to address the ongoing issues. Checks uncovered serious concerns about the living conditions and led to safeguarding referrals.
Coventry City Council also served a Noise Abatement Notice following continued disturbances affecting neighbours. However, it was breached on multiple occasions.
As the problems escalated, Coventry City Council took legal action over ongoing ‘excessive’ noise issues. Police removed noise-making equipment following continued complaints.

Citizen said the woman was involved in suspected drug activity and that a serious incident involving a forced entry was also reported. She was evicted from the property on Wednesday, July 1.
Director of Housing, Care and Support at Citizen, Peter Gill, said: “We know how much cases like this can affect neighbouring customers, and I would like to thank our teams and partner agencies for their persistence and professionalism in bringing this complex case to a conclusion.
“I would also like to thank our customers and neighbours living nearby who reported the antisocial behaviour to us and provided evidence. All of this helped us take action in this situation.”

Mr Gill continued: “Our priority is always to work with customers to resolve issues and help them sustain their tenancy wherever possible. However, when serious and persistent antisocial behaviour continues, despite repeated support and intervention, we will take action to protect our communities.
“Eviction is always a last resort, but in this case, it was the right outcome for local customers. We are committed to working with our partners to shape our neighbourhoods and will continue to work together on issues like antisocial behaviour.”
