A female in her twenties sustained injuries during a four-vehicle collision on the M42 in North Warwickshire.

Officers sealed off the southbound lanes of the motorway between junction 10 and junction 9 shortly after 9pm on Monday, July 6, due to the crash involving four cars.

Emergency services from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the incident.

The specific types of vehicles that were part of the collision have not yet been disclosed.

A representative from Warwickshire Police confirmed that a woman in her 20s required medical attention at hospital.

West Midlands Ambulance Service stated that paramedics provided care to three individuals, with the woman, who had been travelling as a passenger, sustaining injuries that could be serious.

According to the ambulance service representative, crews discovered multiple vehicles that had collided. One passenger, a young woman, sustained potentially serious injuries and received treatment at the location before being transported under emergency conditions to Heartlands Hospital for additional care. Two other people involved in the crash were examined and released at the scene.

The section of the motorway has since been reopened to traffic.

It remained shut for several hours while vehicles were recovered from the area.
