A youth has been taken into custody by officers following multiple reports of individuals being spat upon throughout Rugby. Locals have flagged occurrences in Bilston and Cawston areas.

One particular case involved a young cyclist who reportedly spat at an older gentleman along Nelson Way. The man sustained no physical harm but was reportedly left shaken.

Officers apprehended a 12-year-old youth on July 8 in relation to the alleged spitting offences. The investigation remains active.

A Rugby Police representative stated that they had received reports and seen online discussion regarding several instances where people had been spat upon in the area. The representative emphasised that such conduct is completely unacceptable and will not be excused.

The representative added that a 12-year-old male had been detained today as part of their continuing inquiries, with investigations still in progress.
