Police are appealing for help after a man suffered head and jaw injuries when he was attacked at one of the region’s best known car boot sales.
The incident happened during Sunday’s Furnace End car boot sale. The attack followed a confrontation, and the victim’s injuries required hospital treatment.
Officers are keen to speak with a man who fled the scene soon after. If you can assist police you are urged to get in touch.
A spokesman for Nuneaton and Bedworth Police said: “Were you at Furnace End car boot sale last Sunday? We’re appealing for witnesses to an assault that happened around midday at the event on the B4114 Nuneaton Road.
“A man in his 40s who was in a small group approached another group and asked a question. A verbal altercation then followed that saw the man assaulted – causing injuries to his jaw and head. He was taken to hospital.
“The suspect is understood to have got into a black Mercedes and left the area.
“Anyone who was there, has information, or recorded what happened on their phone is asked to contact us via the link in the comments quoting incident number 157 of 5 July.”
