Police officers looking into a claimed sexual assault at Nuneaton’s railway station are asking two important witnesses to get in contact.

The British Transport Police are handling the inquiry after receiving a report of a sexual assault at Trent Valley Station on Friday, March 13.

Billy Ormiston, 36 years old, with no permanent home, has been formally accused and is scheduled to appear at Warwick Crown Court on Monday, July 13.

The investigation continues and officers have made an urgent request for two individuals who separately entered the men’s toilets on platform two between 8.30pm and 9.30pm to make themselves known.

Detectives think they could possess crucial information that might help with their continuing inquiries, according to the force’s statement.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who was present at Nuneaton railway station during the evening of March 13.

First witness details

The first individual is described as a white man with a bald head and spectacles, wearing a dark blue outer jacket, a blue middle layer, and a white shirt underneath.

He was wearing grey coloured trousers and tan brown shoes, and was carrying a small dark bag. He had originally arrived wearing his white shirt while carrying two jackets over his arm.

The second individual is described as a white man wearing an orange and dark coloured jacket with the hood up, grey or light coloured trousers, and carrying a rucksack.

Anyone who believes they match either description, or possesses information that could assist police, is urged to text BTP on 61016, or telephone 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 708 of March 13, the statement adds.
