A leading manufacturer of autonomous vehicles is expanding its operations in Coventry by moving to a larger manufacturing facility following a transaction arranged by commercial property specialists Bromwich Hardy. Aurrigo International, currently based at Bilton Industrial Estate, specialises in providing baggage and cargo transport solutions for airports and airline operators. The company will occupy 130,615 square feet of space at Power Park Coventry, where it aims to manufacture 500 self-driving vehicles each year. Ed Bunbury, a partner at Bromwich Hardy, negotiated the agreement on behalf of former occupants REE Automotive UK Ltd, who have now assigned the lease to Aurrigo. The company will pay annual rent of £850,000 to landlord Oxenwood Real Estate. According to Mr Bunbury, the firm is delighted to have completed this transaction which will facilitate substantial growth for Aurrigo and ultimately generate new employment opportunities in Coventry. The new facility also offers Aurrigo space to construct an on-site test track for autonomous vehicles, allowing for accelerated development. The move comes after Aurrigo successfully secured £14.1 million in funding at the end of last year to support its growth ambitions. Professor David Keene, chief executive of Aurrigo, stated that the company is thrilled to have found new premises in Coventry, just a short distance from its current location. He explained that this facility will enable the creation of positions for highly qualified professionals as well as emerging talent in engineering and software development. Bromwich Hardy managed the deal for REE Automotive as joint agents alongside Box 4 Real Estate, working in partnership with Bill Wareing of Wareing & Company, who acted on behalf of Aurrigo.
