Schoolboy, 12, found with ‘head laceration’ after incident in Coventry

Police were called after a young boy was found injured in Coventry. He was discovered on Shakespeare Street in Stoke.

Officers received reports that a 12-year-old boy had been attacked yesterday evening (April 4). He was treated at the scene for head injuries.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault but was released without charge. Investigations are ongoing.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Officers were called to Shakespeare Street in Coventry at 7.15pm last night (April 4) to reports that a 12-year-old boy had been injured.

“He was treated by officers at the scene and taken to hospital with a laceration to his head. Following enquiries, a teenager, aged 18, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been released with no further action.”
