Firefighters rushed to an area of Coventry this afternoon after a house fire broke out.
People were asked to avoid the area when the incident was at its height, shortly after 4pm this afternoon (Friday, April 3).
This evening, West Midlands Fire and Rescue said the blaze is ‘under control’ and resources have been reduced – but fire fighters are still expected to be at the scene for some time yet.
The incident happened on Rowleys Green Lane. At its height, seven crews were in attendance at the fire.
In an update posted around 7pm this evening, a spokesman for West Midlands Fire and Rescue said: “Crews are making good progress at the House Fire and fire is now under control. We’ve reduced our resources in attendance however crews will remain on scene throughout the evening.”
