A woman from Coventry has received a financial penalty after discarding fast food packaging from her vehicle window in Walsall. Tia-Rose Gleeson faced proceedings at Birmingham and Solihull Magistrates’ Court. Footage showed Gleeson, residing at Alder Meadow Close, tossing takeaway containers from her SEAT Ibiza. She was found guilty of unlawful disposal of refuse on High Street, Pelsall, Walsall, on August 27, 2025. Gleeson received a £220 penalty along with an £88 victim surcharge and £85 in legal costs, amounting to £393 overall. Multiple other individuals were also sanctioned for refuse dumping across the West Midlands region, with combined penalties reaching £1,539. Also appearing before the court was Zabar Hussain, from Stafford Street, Walsall, who was observed discarding litter on Bills Street, Darlaston. He was instructed to pay £393. Abby Hodgkiss, of Parker Road, Wolverhampton, was similarly penalised £393 for an incident on September 10 the previous year in Walsall. Courtney Bullock, from Oval Way, Walsall, admitted guilt to the same charge and was required to pay £219. Additionally, Sade Annick Woolery, of Stourbridge Road, Dudley, was found guilty of refuse disposal on August 24 last year on Reedswood Way. Her admission of guilt was taken into account, resulting in a £141 fine. A representative from Walsall Council stated that dropping litter is never acceptable and can lead to substantial penalties or escalated legal action. Income generated from such fines supports enforcement efforts, including investigations and measures to address environmental offences throughout the borough.
