Three people have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after a shooting in Coventry. It happened near the A46 Eastern Bypass.
Police made the arrests during a raid on a property on Greengate Lane in Leicester in the early hours of Monday (March 30). It formed part of an ongoing investigation into the January shooting.
Two men, aged 63 and 32, and a 37-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm, reports LeicestershireLive. All three suspects have since been released on bail with strict conditions as enquiries are ongoing.
Officers also reportedly discovered a cannabis grow inside the property on Greengate Lane. A 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were separately arrested by Leicestershire Police on suspicion of cultivating drugs.
Both were released on bail pending further enquiries. Police said the firearms arrests were linked to a shooting on Siskin Drive on January 9.
Shots were fired but caused no injuries, and a dark-coloured Volkswagen Touareg was later recovered on the M69. Significant damage was caused to the rear window and boot, as previously reported by CoventryLive.
West Midlands Police previously appealed for witnesses near the Coventry Eastern Bypass at Toll Bar End Roundabout or on the A46 towards the M69 between 8.15pm and 9pm on January 9. Anyone with information should contact the police by calling 101 and quoting 20/108448/26.
