Recycling facilities across Warwickshire have released their schedules for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, with those undertaking home improvement projects advised to check when their nearest centre will be accessible.
Warwickshire County Council has confirmed that all locations will operate on Saturday, April 4 and Easter Sunday (April 5).
Four sites will remain shut on Good Friday (April 3) and Easter Monday (April 6) because of planning permission limitations. These are Cherry Orchard in Kenilworth, along with the Shipston, Stockton and Wellesbourne centres.
The Easter weekend schedule coincides with the introduction of new summer operating hours on April 1, which extend the opening periods for all tips.
The experimental system allowing visits without prior booking continues, meaning appointments are not required. However, recent weeks have seen several sites experience exceptionally high volumes of visitors, resulting in brief closures at certain locations.
The updated summer schedules are as follows:
Judkins, Burton Farm, Cherry Orchard, Hunters Lane, Lower House Farm and Princes Drive
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 9:30 am to 3pm
Wednesday – 9:30 am to 6pm
Saturday and Sunday – 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Shipston
Monday to Friday – 9:30 am to 3pm
Saturday and Sunday – 8:30 am to 12noon
Stockton
Saturday and Sunday – 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Wellesbourne
Monday – 9:30 am to 3pm
Saturday and Sunday – 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Mark Ryder, executive director for communities at Shire Hall, stated: “I would like to thank all our residents in Warwickshire, who continue to reduce waste generated in the home and separate waste for recycling. Recycling all that you can at home is one easy way to help the environment.”
“We have made tremendous progress in Warwickshire reusing, recycling and composting our waste and we hope to see these positive behaviours continue and spread.
