North Warwickshire Borough Council has given the green light to tear down all structures at the 3M facility on Ratcliffe Road.
The demolition application was put forward to the council and has now received approval.
This means the manufacturing facilities, which began operations in the 1960s, will be completely removed.
The 3M tower had long served as a distinctive feature of the local area, but in 2023 the company announced the closure of the location.
At that time, the business stated that 3M Atherstone, which commenced operations in 1964, represented the company’s sole Coated Abrasives production facility in Europe.
However, according to the proposal, the manufacturing and processing of abrasives would be transferred to other 3M locations across the globe.
Deconstruction of the tower commenced in 2024, and now the remaining buildings where over 160 employees were employed will follow.
