Coventry road closures: Full list for this week

Published on

A number of routes throughout Coventry are scheduled to undergo closures during the upcoming week, according to the most recent traffic orders released by the local authority. While certain road restrictions commence this coming week, additional closures are slated to begin the following week. However, no closures are planned for Bank Holiday Monday (May 4), when multiple major routes and rolling road closures will be in effect for the Coventry City FC ‘We’re Back’ celebration procession and large-scale event at War Memorial Park.

The complete listing is as follows:

Lupton Avenue

Lupton Avenue remains shut at present due to Severn Trent Water infrastructure work involving a water connection pipe. The project is anticipated to conclude by Thursday, April 30.

Argyll Street

Argyll Street, spanning from its intersection with Marlborough Road through to its junction with Walsgrave Road, will be closed beginning at 9:30am on Friday, May 1. The closure is necessary to replace a deteriorated pole. Work is scheduled to finish by 3:30pm that afternoon.

Binley Avenue

Binley Avenue will be inaccessible from 8am on Saturday, May 2 while crews carry out hydrant replacement and related work. The undertaking is expected to reach completion on May 3.

Longford Road

Longford Road, running from its junction with Vinecote Road to its intersection with Oakmoor Road, will be closed from 9:30am on Sunday, May 3 to allow for the safe replacement of a manhole cover and frame. The work is due to finish by 4pm that day.

Westcotes

Westcotes, beginning at its junction with Torrington Avenue and extending northward approximately 20 metres, will be closed starting just after midnight on Tuesday, May 5.
