Police have stepped up patrols following reports of illegal fishing in part of Coventry. The Stoke and Wyken team has reported receiving concerns about illegal angling along sections of the River Sowe.
These areas have now formed part of their community patrols, which also include Caludon Castle Park, Stoke Green, Barras Heath, The Lindfield, Tick Tock Park and Wyken Croft Nature Park.
In their latest online update, the team has also warned that they will dish out Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) to trouble makers, including those behind anti-social behaviour.
“We have also been informed of a location that has recently become a hotspot for anti-social behaviour, and we are actively patrolling and engaging with individuals regarding this issue. We will also be issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) as necessary,” the team explained.
A CPW is a formal warning that can be given to individuals, businesses, or organisations, urging them to change a pattern of behaviour that adversely affects the quality of life within the local community. Any individual aged 16 years or older, whether a person or a business entity, may receive a CPW.
If CPW is breached, it can lead to a Community Protection Notice (CPN) being given out. This is a legally enforceable order and breach of a CPN is classed as an offence.
